"You'll find out soon enough. Once we have a few more we'll be ready." Catherine moved to one side of the building. She could see the lightning and the people looking straight back at her. And she could see others climbing buildings to get a clearer view of the spectacle. But she couldn't see any of the supers from before. Sighing, she retreated back to the rooftop.

"AHA! THERE!"
Chauncey shouted out loud,
he found that his "special" legs allowed him to jump consideribly higher than his old legs could so reaching the ladder was no problem, however actually climbing the ladder was the tricky part, his goat legs were nimble and fast but still very mulfy and the movements needed to climb the ladder were hard to do with his joints in different area's, still he was making steady progress

"I'll find out soon enough?"
Ray takes a deep breath of the cigar smoke
"i don't like this mysterious shit that your giving me, what the fuck is going on?"

"Look, I have something to say to the supers that they'll all need to hear. Just wait for them and everything will be explained. Nothing sinister, I promise." It was a bit insulting to find that someone thought she might be tricking them, but she simply ignored this for now. She needed friends, not enemies, if Threewords was right about this.

"all right, fine, i usually don't trust strangers in costume but i know your legitimate"
Ray takes a deep sigh
"sorry if i acted like an ass, im Ray, and i guess you can say im a public super......" Ray politely say's

"Oh, of course. Supergirl at your service." Yes. I do know that the name is uncreative. Sue me. It was strange, this calm conversation directly next to the thunderous cacophony that Threewords was still producing, but Catherine continued with the conversation. "You were the flying one from before?"

He nodded in response.

She smiled. "Good, I thought I'd recognised you." The more I know right now the better.

"*GASP*........Finally! at the bloody top of....this...........uh......."
Chauncey stared blankly at 2 non robotic figures standing on the roof, which wasn't to say hw wasn't baffled at the lightning producing robot.
"what the hell is going on here!"
the words came out louder than he expected and soon had to super powerd types stareing directly at the spot they though was empty

"listen, anything you want to know or need help with just tell me, us public super's have to stay together" Ray say's in a relaxed voice continuing to smoke the cigar

Ray turns his head towards Chauncey "hey, whats up?"

"I got turned into a 7 ft tall monster a few days ago and now I'm looking at a guy who can make lightning and some wonder woman here and you. What the hell is going on?!"

"well i figured you would have more knowledge then me about whats going on, i got turned into a super this fucking morning." Ray say's jokingly "I'm Ray, this is super girl, im just calling that guy over there Steve until i figure out his name, whats your name?"

Chauncey breathed in deeply and looked over his shoulder forgetting that he was on a rooftop, "screw it" he thought to himself then took a bow
"Chauncey Edwarton the 3^rd, at your service. And what may I call you?"

"just Ray, no fancy title or superhero name" Ray say's "i like the whole devilish appearance you got going on, its pretty cool looking"

"well you wont be saying that when you can't wear pants" Chauncey said with a grin,
"and the name really is Chauncey Edwarton the 3^rd no super hero name. By the way," he pointed to Super girl
"who's Super Woman here? is it you who "attracted" us here?

Catherine gestured towards Threewords, who was currently shredding his way through a solo. "Pretty much all him I'm afraid." She looked up and down Chauncy before resting her head on her palm. I've seen a lot in my time as a super... But never any physical mutations. A flaw maybe? Something from the company? She stood, pondering for a moment before finally giving up. "Strange, even by my standards... Anyway, it was me who wanted to bring you here. And as soon as we have more supers I'll show you exactly why."

He tries to grab the thing to pull it off her, but it swats him away easily.

"James anything you could do?"

ThreeWords, finished the solo with a final explosive chord, and thunder rolled as the music faded.

"That'll do for now, I reckon" he said, "But hopefully this cloud will hang a round for a while to point the way for any slower supers."

"In answer to your question," he continued to Ray, "I was, as it were, born with them, and Super Girl here has had them for years. You see, this isn't the first time people have gained powers"

"so.....im the Noobie to this whole super thing?" Ray sigh's "well, that's fantastic"

Ray looks around nervously "so, anyone do anything fun today after the trashcan explosion?"

Arcs of lightning began to writhe around James' body as he watched the wolf-man swat Chris away with ease, still clutching Blair.

"I can't use my powers, I might kill her as well!"

Looking around, he shot back into the apartment before reemerging with his crowbar. Charging it with a current, he swung a blow at the small of the wolf-thing's back.

@ Yorgimiester: you might as well. I doubt they'd resist anyways. Take control for the moment, but don't do anything stupid. Or kill them.

Rays voice boomed through Chauncey's mind and supergirls mind
"well seeing as you asked,summoning, telepathy, dark magic, flying and mind reading, well actually it works more like memory reading i see past actions rather then thoughts. also im pretty damn strong and agile as well."
Ray started to speak through his mouth rather then mind
"well what about you" Ray asks Chauncey

Chauncey chuckled though with him it seemed to boom
"me? you mean besides the whole 7' tall goat legged man?, I can sprint at a pace that puts most runners to shame, the disease I got has some weird side effects though besides the horrendous mutations, when anything gets me REALLY PISSED OFF I black out, apparently my horns grow larger and I go berserk, according to some cops; it can give you second degree burns to even touch me. It would also seem that I get violent, in a "run you through a brick wall" kind of way, it's strange though, it felt as though I was in a half conscious, maybe with enough practice I could control it but I have no idea how without breaking everything in a 20 meter radius."
he turned to super girl
"what can you do? I imagine it has to be great if you wear a suit all day.'

Catherine watched the conversation, absolutely sure they'd be playing their powers up to intimidate each other. When it came to her chance to mention her power, she'd keep her cards close to her. She didn't know whether she could completely trust these people yet, and she'd made misjudgments of character before, so it would help to have some surprises to use against them. "Well you imagine correct. I'll give you a preview actually." She looked around for a second before spying a line of 3 tin cans several miles away. "You see those cans? Way off in the distance? I'll hit them all from here."

One of the two snorted with derision.

"Don't believe me?" She raised one hand, one finger wrapped around a trigger and the rest holding the imagined firearm steady. 3 very real gunshots rang out in succession and the cans exploded in a shower of metal. Smiling, she blew some smoke away from the tip of one finger. "Impressive, no?"

Ryan neared the top of the stairwell leading to the roof just as three gunshots went off outside. He froze, Amy instinctively crouched down, and Shifty... well he just stopped and looked around. Nothing seemed to startle that guy.

Ryan looked up at the door leading to the roof. "You guys stay here for a second, i'll check it out." He cautiously stepped up to the door and pressed his ear to it, listening for any more sounds. There were none. So he turned his head to where is face was pressed against the door, then leaned forward. The door molded around his head as it went through the door and came out the other side, just enough for him to see.

On the roof of the building next to them, stood the costumed-up Supergirl, an average looking office-worker type man in his mid-twenties, a cigar-smoking black-cloths-wearing guy with aviator glasses that obviously thought he was the man, and a demon. Awesome.

He pulled his face back through the door and glanced back at the others, who were looking at him questioningly. "Ummm... there's a bunch of weirdos on the roof. One of them looks like the Devil. Supergirl's with them, so they're probably alright, but it's you guy's call."

"very impressive" Ray mutters
"do you think you can hit some moving targets?" Ray chuckles as cigar smoke exits his mouth
