Video Highlights New Zone That Offers Challenges for High Level Players
SAN FRANCISCO - March, 17 2009 - Frogster America, Inc. today announced a new zone for Runes of Magic, the Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG) that is redefining the standard for free-to-play titles. Located east of Taborea, Ravenfell will open shortly after the game's formal launch on March 19th. Frogster is expanding the online world of Runes of Magic with a new region, which boasts new opponents and quests and features sandy beaches, palm groves and quaint fishing villages. In the new zone, players will need to watch out for freebooters who haunt the Ravenfell region, in their quest to solve the puzzle of the long perished kingdoms.
Adventurers with characters above level 45 can travel northeast from the regional capital Varanas to the coastal reaches known as Ravenfell. Players will search and explore the remote corners of Ravenfell, from the Shackle Coast with its turtle-like inhabitants, the Chelon, to the Nameless Port.
Its location by the coast quickly made the region an important trading location that attracted pirates as well as merchants. Epic clashes have left their scars on Ravenfell and players will encounter notorious pirates throughout the whole region. A legendary treasure aboard the ship, the Black Mary has long been presumed lost following the disappearance of the pirate leader, Snow Blake. Now treasure hunters scour Ravenfell for clues that might lead them to the discovery of pirate gold.
The open beta for Runes of Magic comes to a close on March 18th and all created characters will continue into the live game after a brief period of downtime to setup the servers for launch. All players will be able to access their characters, achievements and items again when the new servers start up on March 19th. For launch, there will be no shortage of adventurers in Taborea, as players continue to join the massively multiplayer online role-playing game.
